A Happy and Healthy New Year to all and a warm welcome to the DOOLEYS Social Golf Club for the 2021 season. Let us hope this year will not be interrupted by Covid virus. Last year all Intra Club competitions were suspended from the 22nd March and there were no competitions for Championships and Perpetual Trophies. As I pen this article it is hoped that at the Intra Club meeting on the 4th February most activities will be able to resume and we will receive the normal vouchers and financial backing from the club and we will be able to play for all our trophies.
PRESIDENTS REPORT.
Welcome to our first game of the year at Sefton GC. We again will aim to manage and navigate our way through Covid. Thanks to all those that supported our group through 2020. We continue to welcome new players of any skill level, so please encourage friends or relations. Our AGM was held last week with 13 people in attendance. The nine person committee elected were as follows:
President - Bernie Freeburn
Secretary - Sue Delaney
Treasurer - Terry Kenny
Committee Members - Rick Clifford, Gary Mitchell, Peter Kennedy, Bruce Farqhuar, Eddie Habib and Rob Ryan
Handicapper - Adam Welton
Gameday organiser - Denis Collins
Golf Captain - Eddie Habib (now in 2nd year of a three year term)
Thankyou to all these people for volunteering their services for the coming year.
If you have any suggestions for improving the way we do things, please feel free to discuss with myself or any of the committee members.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Golf Club AGM was held on Thursday the 28th January. There were 24 people in attendance, namely Rick Clifford, Denis Collins, Sue Delaney, Bruce Farquhar, Bernie & Jenny Freeburn. Eddie & Margaret Habib, Peter & Val Kennedy. Terry Kenny, Garry Mitchell and Peter & Shiela O’Brien.
Apologies were received from Bill Belkovskis. Jenny Delaney, Margaret Kain, John Munce, David & Helen Ramsay, Dean & Joshua Serra and Anna & Robert Ryan.
In the absence of our patron Bill Belkovskis, Val Kennedy assumed the chair to conduct the ballot foe the Golf Committee. All committee people were re-elected as per 2020. Committee man Bill Freeman who did not attend the meeting was replaced by Eddie Habib as the new committee person.
Details of all elected committee people appear on the Fixture Cards for this year which will be distributed today.

Our lovely golfing friends Anna and Robert Ryan on the 19th January welcomed there first little bundle of joy into this world. AMELIA MARIA RYAN. Both Mum and Amelia are well. Amelia loves lots of cuddles from Mum and Dad and the adoring grandparents. All the Ryan and Chochula families are over the moon with the new arrival. Anna is looking forward to returning to DOOLEYS Social Golf later this year. In years to come we can expect to see a junior AMELIA RYAN joining our ranks.
