BBQ and Raffle will be as normal. Presentation of the Prizes from the WOODVILLE game in APRIL will be presented. The Results and Presentation of prizes for this game will be undertaken at our next game.
CAPTAIN’S TROPHY
Today we play for EDDIE HABIB’S trophy - that is the CAPTAIN’S TROPHY. As previous Captain’s have determined it will be a putting contest. No wonder, EDDIE has won the last two Captain’s Trophies.
Players are requested to record all their putts on the putting green for each hole. The player with the least number of putts will be declared the winner provided the player is eligible. To be eligible the player must be a member of DOOLEYS and a member of the Golf Club. If there is a tie then the player with the highest net score will be declared the winner.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Championships will be decided over the best three (3) games played over four (4) games to be played at:-
AUBURN 15. O5 .21 WOODVILLE 26 . 06 . 21
AUBURN 21 . 08 . 21 WOODVILLE 18 . 09 . 21
To be eligible for the Championships a player must attend eight (8) of the first eleven games played throughout the year. If you had nominated for the abandon game in April it counts towards your eight games. Players must be eligible members of the Golf Club.

HANDICAPPING to SPEED UP the GAME
There is a proposal to vary our handicapping system.
The Golf Club committee is proposing a trial, to vary our handicapping system, with a view to enhancing your enjoyment on the golf course and providing more opportunity for prizes across the entire group. At the same time, we hope that there will be an added impact of speeding up our games which have been a matter of concern over time.
You may be asked to participate in one of several groups, over the next few months to experiment, refine and develop an idea that will satisfy our needs.
If you are asked to participate in the experiment, you will be guided through the process, hole by hole, by either BERNIE FREEBURN or PETER KENNEDY.
Your feedback will enable us to develop the idea to the satisfaction of everyone.
We anticipate that we would start the new system at the beginning of our 2022 season.
GOLF DINNER
Last year the annual Golf Dinner had to be cancelled because of the Covid pandemic and because the Club was forced to close. Normally the dinner is held at WATERVIEW in late May or June. It is intended to go ahead with the dinner if there are sufficient numbers who wish to attend.
The menu will be the same as previous years consisting of platers of food being served for each course. Cost will be $37 per person, the same as in 2019. The dinner will be held at WATERVIEW on the 29th May at 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm start. Please advise me of your intentions today.

JOKE CORNER
- How did the health experts lie? They said a mask and gloves was enough to go to the grocery store. When I got there, everyone else had clothes on.
- Quarantine has really put a damper on comedy. For months nobody has walked into a bar.
- Since we’re all in quarantine I guess we’ll be making only inside jokes from now on.
