A Happy and Healthy New Year to one and all. We hope we will be able to get a full year in this year. This will be my final edition of DIVOTS as intend to resign from the Golf Club in the very near future. Age is catching up, health is deteriorating, having difficulty walking, have had surgery to both shoulders and I am physically unfit to continue playing golf. I have been with the DOOLEYS Social Golf Club since its inception in 1967 when other Catholic Clubs wished to form the Associated Catholic Clubs and play each other in five games each year. The LCWC Golf Club was formed, and we began by playing 10 games each year. Who will be the next author of Divots, I do not know.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Golf Club AGM was held on Thursday 27th January. I think there were twelve (12) people in attendance including Jenny Freeburn and Val Kennedy who did not stand for the committee. KIERAN JACKSON was the newly elected committee person.
Details of all elected committee people appear on the Fixture Cards for this year which will be distributed today.
