Dooley’s Dinner, Presentation of trophies and AGM
The 2024 awards dinner and 2025 AGM will be held on Friday 31st January 2025 at Regent St, The Pavilion (Regents Park Dooleys) please arrive at 6pm for a 6.30pm start. The night will be as follows:
6pm- Event opens
6.30pm- AGM starts
7pm- Dinner
7.45pm- Presentation
Based on feedback, we have decided this year that golfers and their guests can order their own meals (rather than a buffet or set menu). You can order from the bar or a sheet will be sent around on the night to collect orders.
The winners of the perpetual trophies will be presented with a take home trophy and a $50 F&B voucher on the night. The perpetual trophies are currently being arranged for engraving. If they are not available on the night then they will be available in the Club for inspection.
It is also an opportunity to thank our volunteers and committee members for their contributions during the year.
All golfers and friends are invited to attend. We are also extending personal invites to the winners of the perpetual trophies, the named persons (or next of kin) on each of the perpetual trophies, former players and the Board of the Club.
To assist with numbers, please let Sue know by the end of the year if you are available to attend.
Golf Weekend away 2025
We have booked to go to Oberon next year. We have tried to get away from school holidays. The dates confirmed are: Friday 31st October to Sunday 2nd November. Details will be in future Divots. Please save the dates.
Dooley’s Christmas Fair
A big THANK YOU to our volunteers who generously gave up their time last Sunday, to help man the BBQ at the Dooley’s fair. We all enjoyed the entertainment provided on the day! Thanks go to: Kieran, Kylie and Keenan Jackson; Val Kennedy; Bruce Farquhar; Jenny and Bernie Freeburn. Our Dooley’s parent club appreciate your support.
Green Fees for 2025
We have tried to keep costs down as much as possible, however with increasing green fees, we need to increase our green fees next year from $40 to $45, to cover our costs. Our last increase was 2018. Green fees at both Auburn and Woodville have increased in recent times to $39. Thus, meaning we are running at a loss charging $40, as we include a sausage sandwich or two and raffle prizes. Please remember we will still be charging an annual membership fee of $5 per player.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS for 2024
Dooleys Golf has had another successful year, with many kind contributors. And without the efforts from the following people, things wouldn’t run as smoothly:
Garry Mitchell– Garry has delivered our trailer and bags of ice to games not only this year, but for the past 20 odd years. This has meant picking up the trailer from Dooleys Lidcombe before the game and returning it after the game. We greatly thank Garry for his efforts over the years. (Garry’s last game for towing the trailer will be this game at Auburn. If anyone is interested in taking over the towing, please see Garry or Bernie.)
Adam Welton– Adam played many games with Dooleys over many years. He took over the handicapper’s job about 8 years ago. Adam and his family moved to Wauchope about 5 years ago, but fortunately for us Adam was happy to continue to adjust handicaps from afar. He has formulated a handicapping system that works well for us. Thanks Adam, for your time and effort.
Bruce Farquhar– Bruce has been a big contributor over many years. Bruce again picked up sausages, onions, bread and butter before every game. Bruce again did a lot of organising and preparation for our weekend of golf at Kandos. We thank Bruce for being so generous with his time.
Val Kennedy– Val again selflessly volunteered her time to be our cook each month. She always brightens our day with a smile and a snag sandwich, no matter how bad we are golfing. Thanks for all you do.
Sue Delaney – Sue looks after all our communications, ensuring everyone is well informed. Sue also has kept the finances and book records balanced on game day. Thanks Sue, for your dedication.
Kieran Jackson– Kieran brings our drinks to games and keeps our stock topped up. He is a keen shopper when looking for a bargain. Thanks Kieran.
Rob Ryan– Rob keeps a good control of our finances, making sure the books balance and working out our prizes. Rob also liaises regularly with our parent Dooley’s Club. Thanks Rob.
Jenny Freeburn– Jenny is a quiet achiever, doing many things behind the scenes to make sure nothing is missed. There are a lot of small tasks that go into making our Saturdays and weekends of golf happen and Jenny covers these bases. Thanks, Jenny.
