Although only 26 golfers, (one more than the previous year) partners and friends attended last year’s dinner, everyone who attended had a great night and thoroughly enjoyed the evening especial the food. The meal consisted of platters of Bread, Entrees and Mains. Everyone had sufficient food and voted that we continue to have the Golf Dinner each year. So it will be on again this year most likely Saturday evening in May.
If you are interested in attending the dinner please let Terry know.
THINK KIDS
As a result of the Christmas Fair, Dooley’s donated $50,000 to the Westmead Children’s Oncology Unit.
Once again the Dooley Golfers were very generous in assisting this most worthy cause.
Once again we did the Sausage Sizzle.
I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank all those who volunteered and assisted with the Sausage Sizzle on the day. I thank you most sincerely for giving so freely and so much of your time to HELP THE KIDS.
YOUR GENEROSITY WILL BE RICHLY REWARDED
ONCE AGAIN THE Collection Box will be available at each Golf Day.
GIVE GENEROUSLY.
A gold coin each Golf Day is a worthy contribution.
GREEN FEES
The Treasurer in his report to the AGM revealed that the Golf Club had suffered a small loss of $217 for the year. He indicated that the $570 expended on Golf Shirts and the loss of the generous donation of $150 from Seymour’s contributed to this loss. However, proceeds from the Raffle were up $600 on the previous year. This compulsory charge of $5 for the Raffle is allowing us at the moment to balance the books. This is dependent upon our numbers attending remaining the same and Green Fees do not rise.
Reduced numbers and increases in Green Fees will put pressure on our charge of $40 for our game of Golf.
GOLF BADGES
Eight (8) players received recognition for achieving a significant milestone in attending DOOLEY Golf Days. On receiving a new milestone badge recipients are expected to return their old badge or pay $5 for their new badge.
A number of recipients received a badge but failed to return their old badge or pay the $5 cost.
EVERYONE should have a BADGE. It only costs a PALTRY $5.
