At Auburn, we welcomed CATHY EADES a friend of MARGARET KAIN who plays with MARGARET at Fox Hills. Some might remember CATHY as she played with us at our charity day a couple years ago. We hope CATHY has enjoyed her day out with the DOOLEYS Social Golf Club. It is hoped that she will become a regular player with us and will entice some of her male and female friends to come along with her. Welcome CATHY and we hope to see you soon.

FINAL of the TERRY KENNY TREASURER’S TROPHY
FINAL ROUND of the BILL KAIN’S PRESIDENT’S TROPHY
TREASURER’S TROPHY
I was hoping for and was hopeful for the ladies creating a FIRST EVER by there being an ALL LADIES final for the Treasurer’s Trophy. I was at least expecting ONE LADY to be contesting the final. It DID NOT HAPPEN I had JONAH both their chances by predicting such an outcome. Sorry Ladies but I will keep my thoughts – hopes to myself in future.
The results of the two semi-finals were very, very close. Read on:
22. JENNY FREEBURN (27) Vs 5. STUART HURLEY (21). STUART had to concede 6 strokes to JENNY. Holes 2 and 3 were the only holes halved on the outward run. STUART won holes 1, 4 and 5 to be 3 Up after five holes. Then they each won two of the remaining four holes on the front nine. STUART maintained his 3 Up advantage going into the homeward journey. Honours were shared on the eleventh hole. STUART increase his lead to be 4 Up after playing the tenth. JENNY then applied the pressure by winning holes 11, 12, 13 and 14 to square the match with three holes remaining. STUART won the sixteenth but JENNY won the seventeenth for the match to remain square with one hole remaining. JENNY was unable to maintain the surge and STUART won the hole and the MATCH 1 Up.
2. MICHAEL LENART (18) Vs 21. SONYA LENART (42). MICHAEL had to concede 24 strokes to SONYA. Both players appeared to begin a little nervously. Three of the first five holes were halved with each playing winning a hole. After five holes the match was all even. SONYA won the next three holes but MICHAEL won the ninth hole to be 2 Down with nine holes to play. SONYA won the tenth and MICHAEL won the eleventh. With seven holes to play SONYA was two Up. Four of the remaining seven holes were halved. However, MICHAEL was able to win three holes to be 1Up and seal the MATCH.
The final match will be played today at Woodville. The 5th seed will play the 2nd seed.
5. STUART HURLEY (22) Vs 2. MICHAEL LENART (17)
