FRED DELANEY played his first game of golf with the DOOLEYS Social Golf Club at Auburn in February 1975. He played his second game at Rouse Hill in February 1978 and then played continuously until April 2003. Over that period he attended 215 games. Fred loved DOOLEYS, he was a Life Member and a Director for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing with our Golf Club and was one of the six players who went to Yarrawonga and hence the Pat Connell Trophy. Fred will be sadly missed by all that new him. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, Anne and family.

We were expecting four new players at Sefton. The predicted hot weather deterred three players from attending. It did not deter DAVID McCLOSKEY from attending. DAVID is a member of DOOLEYS and is interested in playing Euchre and playing Golf. He has joined these two Intra Clubs. We welcome DAVID to his first game with the Golf Club. We hope he has enjoyed the day and that he will continue to play with us and become a regular DOOLEY Golfer. We hope he is able to entice some of his family and friends to join us. Welcome DAVID.

Nominations and cancellations close on the SUNDAY EVENING PRIOR to the game to allow for catering and confirmation of bookings. IRRESPECTIVE of REASON, the amount of $5 will be charged for those who have nominated for a game but do not attend.

The Golf Club does have its own Golf Shirts and Golf Badges.
Each member is expected to have and to wear the Shirt and Badge.
Golf Shirts only cost $15. The cost is subsidized by the Golf Club.

The Golf Committee nominated SUE DELANEY for the Club Person and JACOB PEMBLE for the Sports Person awards for 2019. There were four nominees for each category. Our nomination of JACOB was successful when he was named Sportsperson at the Presentation Evening last Thursday. Congratulations JACOB on a well deserved award.

It’s been a long time but I do recall many years ago that someone had a PAR round of golf with the DOOLEYS Social Golf Club. Well it has happen again. JACOB PEMBLE playing off a Handicap of 4 had a round of 54. A PAR round. Finished with a net 50. Congratulations and well done JACOB.

The Golf Club is extremely fortunate to have two volunteer cooks namely MARGARET BENTLEY and VAL KENNEDY. The Golf Club congratulates these two wonderful ladies who give freely of their time to cook and provide substance for us hungry golfers. There are times when these ladies cannot attend. If you know of anyone who does not mind rising early on a Saturday morning twelve (12) days a year and can BBQ a sausage and cook some onions. WE NEED THAT/THOSE PERSON/PEOPLE.
